IPL 2021 Schedule, Match Time-table, Venues, Timings and Fixtures

The biggest sporting event of India – the Indian Premier League (IPL) – is all set to resume its 14th season. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided September 19th as the date when VIVO IPL 2021’s remaining matches will begin in Dubai. Due to a worsening COVID-19 situation in the country, the BCCI had suspended IPL in May earlier this year.

Since then, cricket lovers and bettors have waited with bated breath for their favourite Twenty20 International (T20) tournament to begin. They would be super excited now that the BCCI has released the new schedule.

As per the new schedule, the IPL teams will play 31 matches, starting with the first match on September 19th between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians and ending with the final match on October 15th. There will be a lot of cricketing action for the punters to bet on, as several games are yet to be played.

The BCCI deserves credit for rescheduling IPL 2021 matches after COVID-19 brought a halt to the tournament earlier. The window to host the matches was really tight, as even the T20 World Cup is set to begin on October 17th.

Meanwhile, the board also urged the organizers of another T20 tournament, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), to ensure that there was no overlap between IPL and CPL matches.

This was extremely important because a number of West Indian players participate in the IPL as well. Any overlap would have made it impossible for them to play in IPL and robbed cricket lovers of the fun and excitement those players bring to the IPL.

Then, the organizers had to move the tournament to the UAE due to COVID-19 related concerns in India. The BCCI has chosen to hold the matches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. Dubai will be playing host to 13 matches, 10 matches will happen in Sharjah, and the remaining 8 matches will happen in Abu Dhabi.

Of the 31 matches, 24 matches are scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST, and the remaining 7 matches will begin at 3:30 PM, which means fans will be able to watch the matches easily. Moreover, 15 matches will be played on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which is the most convenient time to watch sports for most people.

Given that the IPL is the most-loved cricket tournament, the organisers have given due consideration to the convenience of the fans. Moreover, late evening matches that start at 7:30 PM have their own charm, especially for Indian cricket lovers.

In this blog, Fun88 brings for you the new schedule of IPL 2021, match-list, time- table, points-table so far, top questions on the minds of punters, and a lot more.

IPL 2021 – Points Table So far….

In the first half of 2021, 25 IPL 2021 matches were played in India. Delhi Capitals (DC) is at the top of the table with 6 wins and 2 losses in 8 matches. DC is the most improved team, as it even reached the final of IPL 2020 for the first time in the tournament’s history.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is 2nd on the points table, closely followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the 3rd position. Both CSK and RCB have won 5 matches out of seven played, but CSK has a higher net run rate.

RCB’s performance has caught everyone by surprise because, historically, they have been laggards. Even though they are led by Virat Kohli and have a superstar cricketer like AB de Villiers, RCB has performed poorly in the IPL.

Currently, Mumbai Indians (MI) are 4th on the points table after winning 4 games and losing 3 matches. MI are the defending champions of IPL. Moreover, they are the most successful team of the league, having won the cup 5 times.

MI fans are expecting their team to bounce back and reach the top. Then comes Rajasthan Royals (RR), which stands 5th with 3 wins in 7 matches.

Here’s how the Points Table of IPL 2021 Looks Like:

Team Matches Played Won Lost Net Run Rate Points
Delhi Capitals (DC) 8 6 2 +0.547 12
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) 7 5 2 +1.263 10
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) 7 5 2 -0.171 10
Mumbai Indians (MI) 7 4 3 +0.062 8
Rajasthan Royals (RR) 7 3 4 -0.190 6
Punjab Kings (PBKS) 8 3 5 -0.368 6
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) 7 2 5 -0.494 4
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) 7 1 6 -0.623 2

What are the Cricket Bettors Thinking?

IPL 2021 Season 14 Betting Prediction
The rescheduled matches of the IPL’s 14th season are going to bring a lot of excitement for the bettors. The punters are constantly mulling over who will win the cup this year. Can Delhi Capitals or Royal Challengers Bangalore win it for the first time?

Like we said, DC has improved by a mile. This was a team, which used to struggle to reach the playoffs, but they reached the final last time. They have superb players like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, and Prithvi Shaw.

RCB, too, has a chance to win after buying players like Kyle Jamieson and Glenn Maxwell. Or, will we have teams like Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians winning it yet again? Will Punjab Kings, which has won 3 out of 8 games so far, deliver a better performance than earlier.

The last time Punjab Kings did well in IPL was way back in 2014 when they had finished as runners-up. PBKS has superb players like K.L. Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Dawid Malan, and Nicholas Pooran.

What will be the fate of Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad? Will they continue to languish at the bottom of the points-table or bounce back? Two-time IPL winner, KKR, failed to qualify for playoffs in 2019 & 2020. On the other hand, SRH qualified for playoffs in 2019 & 2020 and were the runners-up in 2018.

Some of these teams are capable enough to come back strongly in the remaining IPL matches. Moreover, KKR and SRH have more experience of playing on a big stage than RCB.

As the remaining matches of IPL 2021 get closer, we will bring you answers to a lot of such questions and other insights, which will help you bet on the matches.

Top Players to Bet on in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021

Top Players To Bet On IPL 2021

Chris Morris (Rajasthan Royals)
Christopher Morris is a South African professional cricketer

When Rajasthan Royals paid a massive Rs 16.25 crore for Chris Morris, he felt the pressure himself. And, why not? He’s the most expensive foreign player ever in the IPL. But if you consider his ability, you won’t be surprised why RR paid that much for him. Morris is a competent all-rounder who can turn a match around by both bat and ball. T20, being the shortest format, desperately needs all-rounders, and Morris just fits the bill for RR. Over the years, he has played for several IPL teams, always making a good impression with both bat and ball.

K.L. Rahul (Punjab Kings)
KL Rahul is an Indian international cricketer who captains Punjab Kings in the IPL

K.L. Rahul scored 670 runs at an average of 55.8 for Punjab Kings in IPL 2020. While his strike rate of 129.3 was slow compared to other players, who have scored 600+runs, he should be your pick if you want to bet on the batsman who will score maximum runs in IPL 2021. As far as T20 cricket is concerned, Rahul is at the prime of his career. He hits bowlers all over the park, and there’s hardly any flaw in his technique while facing the white ball. Indeed, his batting has not won as many matches for PBKS as he wanted, but he can emerge as the batsman with most runs and win an orange cap in IPL 2021.

Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals)
Rishabh Pant plays as a middle order wicket-keeper batsman for Delhi Capitals in IPL.

When it comes to IPL, you just can’t ignore Rishabh Pant. This swashbuckling batsman has been so successful for DC that they have retained him since 2016, which is quite long when you consider that most players don’t spend more than a year or two with a team. But, look at his numbers. He has a strike-rate of around 150 and a batting average of around 35. Moreover, his flamboyance makes a significant impact on other players as well. Pant has played a huge role in the turnaround of DC, which for years was not able to perform well. He should definitely be a player to watch out for.

Jasprit Bumrah (Mumbai Indians)
Jasprit Bumrah is a right arm fast bowler for Mumbai Indians in IPL.

Although Jasprit Bumrah is recognized as one of the best bowlers in world cricket today, he came to the limelight while making his IPL debut at the age of just 19. Since then, he’s been one of the most consistent bowlers of the league. He can bowl yorkers, slower deliveries and also at an extreme pace, much to the chagrin of opposition batsmen. Bumrah has been an asset for MI over the years. Even in the previous edition of the IPL, he took 27 wickets. If you are betting on the bowler who will take maximum wickets and win the purple cap in IPL 2021, then consider Bumrah for sure.

Kagiso Rabada (Delhi Capitals)
Kagiso Rabada is a South African international cricketer playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL

Another speedster who’s expected to shine in IPL 2021 is Kagiso Rabada. He’s one of the best bowlers to watch in modern cricket. Every time he bowls, it seems that he will take a wicket. Rabada took the highest number of wickets (30) in IPL 2020, and he’s likely to continue his excellent run in this edition as well. Along with Pant, he’s one of the key players who have turned around the fortunes of DC.

IPL 2021 Final Betting & Odds Prediction: Who Will Win the Cup?

The remaining matches of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 are going to start on September 19. This is the time when cricket lovers and bettors are thinking hard about which team will win the cup, who will take the maximum wickets, and who will be the leading scorer.

There’s no doubt that the ongoing 14th season of the IPL is the most exciting because teams like Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), which have mostly been laggards, are doing well.

For a punter, nothing is more exciting than seeing teams, which were earlier languishing at the bottom of the points-table, performing well. It not only makes cricket a lot more exciting to watch, but it also adds to the thrill of betting.

For example, there could be a new winner this time or a bowler, who until now hadn’t done well, can end up taking the most wickets. Besides, some of the big teams are facing issues.

Mumbai Indians (MI), which is the most successful team, is yet to impress with its performance in IPL 2021. MI stands 4th on the points table of IPL 2021, having won only 4 of the 7 matches played. For those of us, who are used to seeing MI dominate the proceedings, this is a bit difficult to swallow.

That said, MI is the most experienced side when it comes to performing in crunch situations, and therefore, they can bounce back any time. While Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had an awful run in IPL 2021, they are looking better this year.

Overall, it seems that at least four teams have a solid chance of going far in the IPL this year. It is expected that matches will be tightly contested, keeping punters on their toes. And that’s exactly what they want because it adds to the thrill of betting and increases the probability of making big bucks.

In this blog, we, at Fun88, will talk about IPL predictions for 2021, the likely winner, the top scorer, the highest wicket-taker, and provide lots of IPL 2021 betting tips and odds.

Betting odds suggest Delhi Capitals is most likely to win IPL 2021

Team Delhi Capital Sqaud For IPL 2021

A few years ago, if you had told people that the Delhi team would win the cup, they would not have believed. Delhi Capitals reached the final of IPL 2020, where they were beaten by MI.

Hardly any other team has seen the turnaround as DC. With the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan, and Kagiso Rabada, their line-up comprises players who regularly excel in the 20-over format.

Keep in mind that Iyer had to stay out of IPL earlier this year due to an injury. Despite that, Pant led the team to the top of the points table, showing how much talent they have got.

DC’s campaign will be aided by the fact that MI is not able to perform well this year. The two teams which can trouble DC are CSK and RCB. But, man-to-man, DC seems to be the better team, and they will likely emerge as winners this time.

Moreover, DC has signed players like Steve Smith, Tom Curran, and Umesh Yadav, who have match-winning potential. Like we said, even CSK is looking like a strong team, especially with Suresh Raina coming back.

Raina had pulled out of IPL 2020, which was one of the main reasons CSK did poorly last time. But, this time around, he’s back. Moreover, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Narayan Jagadeesan are doing well with the bat in the domestic season.

All this bodes well for CSK to reach the final, but we think DC has more quality, and therefore they are most likely to lift the IPL cup in 2021.

Apart from DC and CSK, RCB and MI will also make it to the playoffs. Enough has been said about Virat Kohli’s RCB team and how it looks stronger after the inclusion of Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson than earlier.

RCB reached the playoffs last year, and this year, it seems they will be among the top 4 teams. The 5-time champion, MI, will also make it to the playoffs, but we think they won’t be able to beat other teams to reach the final this year.

Shikhar Dhawan is likely to make the most runs in IPL 2021

Shikhar Dhawan A left-handed opening batsman plays for Delhi in first-class cricket and Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

Betting odds suggest that the Delhi-batsman Shikhar Dhawan will win the orange cap in IPL 2021 for scoring the most runs. Dhawan has, so far, scored 380 runs in eight matches played by his team. He’s in excellent form, and it seems that he will continue his good run when IPL 2021 resumes this year.

Dhawan’s performance will help DC to do well. He will be one of their key players, apart from Pant, Iyer, and Rabada. A lot will depend upon his performance, and he’s not going to fail given that he’s a white-ball superstar.

Even in IPL 2020, Dhawan finished as the second-highest run-getter, having scored 618 runs at an average of 44.1 at a mind-numbing strike rate of 144.7 last year. Dhawan was in such good form that he scored back-to-back centuries.

Moreover, he made runs when it mattered. For example, he scored 78 runs against SRH, which helped Delhi reach the final. So, if you want to bet on the batsman with the most runs or the winner of the orange cap in IPL 2021, Shikhar Dhawan is likely to be your best bet.

Harshal Patel has the best odds to win the purple cap for most wickets in IPL 2021

Harshal Patel is a right-arm seamer with a big outswinger playing for RCB in IPL.

Before the start of IPL 2021, everyone thought that Jasprit Bumrah or Kagiso Rabada would take the most wickets. But neither Bumrah nor Rabada is in the reckoning after 25 IPL matches were played earlier this year.

It is Harshal Patel of RCB who’s leading the charts for taking the highest number of wickets. Patel has taken 17 wickets in 7 matches so far, and he’s one reason RCB has been so successful in IPL 2021.

Every time Kohli wants a breakthrough, he turns to Patel, who’s more than fulfilling his promise. Patel is genuinely impressive because he takes highly-prized wickets of players like Suresh Raina, Hardik Pandya, Eoin Morgan, Chris Morris, Kieron Pollard, Prithvi Shaw, etc.

This means he’s not only a wicket-taking bowler, but he’s also an impact bowler. Patel should be your pick if you want to bet on the purple cap winner in IPL 2021.

Visit Fun88 for several betting options to bet on IPL 2021

Whether you’re a consummate punter or a beginner, you should visit Fun88 because we offer you the best IPL betting tips and IPL betting odds in the industry. Apart from that, you have tons of options to bet on. We are a leading IPL betting site that allows you to start placing bets even before the remaining matches of IPL begin.

Bet Before IPL 2021’s remaining matches even begin

If you’re an enthusiastic punter, you don’t have to wait for IPL 2021’s matches to begin to place your bet. There are many betting options for you to bet on even before the tournament resumes. For example:

  • Outright winner – Will Delhi Capitals win the cup for the first time, or will CSK emerge as the winner yet again?
  • Top batsman – Will Shikhar Dhawan win the orange cap by hitting bowlers all over the park, or will K.L. Rahul scored the highest runs?
  • Top bowlers – Will Harshal Patel surprise everyone by taking the maximum wickets this time, or will Bumrah win the purple cap?
  • Bottom Team – This could be an interesting one, too. Will Rajasthan Royals finish at the bottom after Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, and Joss Buttler are not playing in IPL, or will KKR be the team with the lowest points?

Further, punters can also bet on several options on the matchday just before the game begins.

Bet Before the Day’s IPL Match

The following are some of the options you can bet on before the day’s match begins.

  • Match Winner – For example, before CSK and MI’s match starts on September 19, you can place your bets on which team will win the match.
  • Top Batsman – Who will score the maximum runs?
  • Top Bowler – Who will take the most wickets?
  • Coin-toss Winner – Which team will win the toss?
  • 4’s and 6’s in a match – Which team will hit the maximum fours and most sixes?

That’s not it because you can bet even while an IPL match is being played.

Bet During an IPL Match

  • Team-wise runs – You can bet on how many runs a team will score after the match begins.
  • Runs off a delivery – Bet on how many runs will be scored against a specific delivery. This is an exciting option. Suppose Dhawan is playing, and his team needs 10 runs off the last two balls. You can bet on whether he’ll hit a 6 or a 4 on the next ball.
  • Method of getting out – How will a batsman lose his wicket? Caught, bowled, or a run-out. Another interesting option, which lets you put your cricketing knowledge to use.
  • Total Runs – How many runs will be scored in a match by both the teams combined?
  • Next Wicket – Who will be the next player to lose his wicket?

IPL 2021 FAQs About Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Answered!

Now that the remaining matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 are set to start from September 19, everyone’s excited.

When VIVO IPL 2021 was brought to a halt earlier this year due to the COVID-19 related concerns, cricket fans were a bit sad, although they understood that it was best for IPL to not continue at that time.

Later, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to move the remaining matches of IPL 2021 to the UAE. Obviously, the fans are happy, as they are looking forward to the resumption of their favourite league.

In this blog, Fun88 brings for you the most frequently asked IPL 2021 questions.

Q1: Which teams will be contesting for the IPL 2021 Cup?

Q2: What is the meaning of IPL 2021’s format – double round-robin and playoffs?

‘Double round-robin’ means that each IPL team will play two matches with all other teams. This is called the league stage, at the end of which the top four teams will advance to the playoffs stage. The top two teams on the points table will play in the first qualifier match in the playoff stage. This match’s winner will reach the final, while the losing team will have to wait for the result of the second qualifier match.

Before that, an eliminator match will happen between the third and fourth positioned team on the points table. While the winner of this match will move to the second qualifier match, the losing team will exit the tournament at this stage.

In the second qualifier match, the eliminator match’s winning team will play against the losing team of the first qualifier match. This match’s winning team will advance to the final match, while the losing team will exit the tournament.

The winners of the first and the second qualifier matches will play in the final to decide the winner of the IPL 2021.

Q3: Have the remaining IPL 2021 matches been moved out of India?

Yes, the BCCI has decided to move the remaining IPL 2021 matches to the UAE. Earlier in the year, 25 IPL matches were played in India, but the tournament was brought to a halt due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.

Q4: When are the remaining IPL 2021 matches starting?
