Team India Squad for T20 World Cup: Strengths and Weaknesses

Cricket

The greatest cricket team in the world is back in action in the eighth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022, which will be hosted in Australia. In recent times, Team India has performed admirably in limited-overs cricket. The Indian team won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 and was crowned the winner.

The team also had a historical moment in the same year when Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes in a row. Both internationally and domestically, the squad has had a great run in recent years. The Indian team has many of the leading players in the game. Let’s have a detailed look at the team India squad for T20 World Cup.

The Indian batting unit for the World T20 is very strong. The team boasts of big-hitters such as Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, K L Rahul, Hardik Pandya, and several more.

Strengths

One of the most intimidating and imperious opening pairs in world cricket is Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli. It’s quite possible to argue that it’s the strongest India has looked at the top of the order in years. In Rohit Sharma, they have a proven Twenty20 World Cup player with a run of 2007. He played effectively in the Asia Cup, averaging 33.25 with a strike rate of 151.13. If he can maintain those figures, he will be the perfect foundation on which to build a trophy run.

KL Rahul, who finished in the top three of the top-scoring batsmen in the last four Indian Premier Leagues, is number four. He is an excellent run-getter in domestic cricket but has recently been troubled by a serious injury.

Virat Kohli is number three. He is the highest run-scorer in T20 World Cup history, following Rohit Sharma at number five. Also, Virat Kohli is striving hard to showcase his best in the T20.

Also, Jasprit Bumrah isn’t only the best bowler in all three formats of cricket but also a master at the last stages of an innings. He is excellent at combining his deliveries and unerring accuracy in his yorkers, making him the most important member of the India bowling stable.

However, Bumrah was out of the Asia Cup due to a back injury. He is anticipated to be available for the biggest contest of the year, so look for him in the IPL as soon as possible. Even Bhuvneshwar Kumar is expected to do good in the match. He jumps from 11th to 7th in the international Twenty20 bowling rankings.

Asrhdeep Singh is one of the best players to look for in this T20 edition. So one can think of placing a bet on this player.

Weaknesses

India possesses three of the game’s best batsmen, but there are some concerns surrounding the team’s middle order. India’s fans, however, are most alarmed by their apparent half-game phobia, which has been evident in recent evidence. Let’s take a look at those concerns.  While they have strength at the top of the order, there are genuine concerns surrounding some of their finishers.

At least on recent evidence, India’s middle order is not as brusque as it should be. The top three batsmen in the line-up have been a definite plus for India, but the middle order has some concerns. Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant, and Ravi Ashwin are all in need of discipline in the face of adversity, and other than Rishabh Pant, none are demonstrating that right now.

As a result, their team is falling through the mire. In one-day matches in Asia, Sri Lanka’s Ravindra Jadeja, who is expected to fill in for injured Ravindra Jadeja in the World Cup, was unable to prevent Pakistan and Sri Lanka from going through to the semi-finals. Without a single half-century, Deepak Hooda, who is expected to fill in for Ravindra Jadeja in the World Cup, was unsuccessful in the Asia Cup.

Also, India’s poor record at the Twenty20 World Cup – it’s not good enough for a team of their quality – is not something you can shirk away from. Four of the six preceding events saw them exit the group stages, and in 2007 they won the tournament.

Therefore, it is critical for Rohit Sharma and his leadership group – many of whom were involved in those failures – to achieve the minimum objective of advancing from the Super 12s. India was again exposed as a one-tournament-at-a-time playing team in the Asia Cup.

What are the Cricket Betting Odds for Team India Squad in ICC T20 World Cup?

The T20 World Cup in 2022 will be a wonderful opportunity for India to continue its recent streak of winning ICC competitions. They have a well-balanced team, with batting as their main strength. The excellent performance of all the players is to look for especially – Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.  In a nutshell, the India squad has good cricket betting odds this year.
